MATTING
Matting is another creative element available during the design process. Mats can be used to
enhance any work of art. It can accent a shape, highlight a color and is used as a tool to expand the art to the frame.
CONSERVATION
These mats are acid-free, lignin-free and meet all requirements for conservation matting. They come in a large assortment of colors, textures and finishes allowing for a generous choice of matting.
RAG
Rag mats are recommended for all museum quality picture framing. Cotton is inherently free of lignin, acid and other non-cellulose contaminants found in wood pulp.
COLOR CORE
While most conservation mats show a thin, white 45-degree bevel when cut, we also offer boards showing a variety of colored bevels... adding another layer to the design process.
FABRIC
Fabric matboards instantly add texture and drama to any custom framed piece. Common fabric matboards include silk, linen, cotton, leather and suede textures.
SPECIALTY
We also offer a variety of artisan-created matboards showing off shimmering metals, richly textured surfaces, and organic textures that take custom framing to the next level.
DECORATIVE OPENINGS & SHAPES
Our computerized mat cutter allows for layers of design options using different shaped openings, v-grooves, writing, and debossing.
